D&E Little Milton
"Think Of Me"
Telarc Records

Little Milton Campbell was born in 1934. He recorded for the Sun Record label before moving to Bobbin Records where he waxed his first hit single "I'm A Lonely Man" in 1958. In the 1960's he recorded "Who's Cheatin' Who?" and "Grits Ain't Groceries" for the Chess Label. In 1971 he joined the Stax Records roster and recorded the hit "Walking The Back Street and Cryin'". He finally joined Malaco Records where he released fourteen albums and earned a Handy Award in 1988 for Blues Entertainer of The Year. He is a fine guitarist, a passionate vocalist, and a notable songwriter. "Think of Me" is Little Milton's first Telarc recording.

The album is produced by Jon Tiven and Randy Labbe. Jon Tiven has also produced albums for Wilson Pickett and Ellis Hooks. Here, Jon Tiven has co-written eleven of the twelve new songs with Little Milton and they provide Little Milton a vocal showcase. My favorites include "Gonna Find Me Somebody to Love", "Let Your Love Rain Down on Me", "Gone With the Wind", "Thinking of Me (Thinking of You)", and "Reconsider Me". "The Blues Is My Companion" is pure Little Milton as he sings "the blues has been my roommate ever since the day you walked out the door".

Little Milton and Jon Tiven handle the guitar chores while the remainder of the band includes Bruce Katz, organ; Sally Tiven, bass; and Chuckie Burke, drums. Other guests include Peter Shoulder, Billy Block, Mark Sorrells, Per Hanson, Ellis Hooks and Scat Springs. If you like your blues soul driven you'll love this album.
