The opening of the Summer Series at Stamford (presented by the NYBJS and Reckson Assoc.) was a fantastic blend of the music 'for which we stand'! The sweet soul sounds of Sam 'Bluzman' Taylor were offset by the smooth progressive sounds of Doug Munro and II V I. Doug is a terrific player who also heads up the music department at The Conservatory of Music at Purchase College. He is a well known studio musician but also quite a talent with his own combo. If you are a jazz fan, don't pass up the opportunity to see him when he plays out!
